Job Description

Responsible for the management of the company SQF and prerequisite programs, as well as OSHA safety programs. This includes performing modifications/updates and continually reassessing the programs, insuring they remain current. Apply SQF, Food Safety and OSHA safety principles in developing and executing training programs for plant employees. Work with plant Supervisors in performing plant self-inspections for SQF, Food Safety and OSHA safety verification.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review all SQF/HACCP Critical Control Points (CCPs) monitoring and verification records to ensure compliance with SQF/HACCP critical limits and frequencies as required per the SQF plan.
  • Daily monitoring of SQF/HACCP & prerequisite programs to ensure procedures are properly carried out.
  • Review and evaluate all records for accuracy, completion, and consider improvements needed.
  • Development and execution of training for all plant personnel on SQF/HACCP, GMP, OSHA, allergen control, chemical control, glass control, SSOPs and all required plant programs.
  • Perform mock recalls and ensure traceability system is functioning as intended.
  • Ensure SQF/HACCP team meetings and required SQF review is carried out.
  • Trend data (charts, graphs, etc.) and continuously evaluate plant programs for improvement.
  • Control all documents and records and verify most current issue is in use.
  • Research and stay informed with current laws and regulations.
  • Conduct, and document, accident investigations on all injuries.
  • Maintains close communication with medical providers providing services for injured employees and serves as the liaison between medical providers, injured employees and department supervisors.
  • Determines actual time missed from work due to work related injuries and illnesses and provide accurate information to meet OSHA record-keeping requirements.
  • Assist in answering phones and general office duties/functions.
  • Assist payroll department with seasonal new/re-hires.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
